Target Spring 2021


Between Covid and the inauguration, Spring 2021 was going to set in stores at a trying and divisive time. Because of this, we approached it from a place of empathy and desire for harmony. We worked with Marisol Ortega to design a suite of patterns that feel both modern and human, featuring geometric spring icons contrasted with hand-drawn linework. Overlapping floods of color and shape symbolically represent coming together and unity, and is a constant in each pattern as well as the lettering.

Our focal moment in Mini seasonal is a dimensional heart made from smaller hearts, coming together and intersecting. I worked on engineering this piece and designed it so that it arrives to stores pre-assembled and flattened. All team members have to do to install it is pop it open and hang it.
